Hablon Freedom Weaves

Super Inday CoLove: Advanced Hablon Design Training for WDL (Women-deprived-of-liberty) in BJMP Iloilo District Jail Female Dormitory, Nanga, Pototan, Iloilo. The hablon training was conducted by master weaver from Miag-ao, Criselda Fagarita and sewing workshop by Pacita Mitra Recalb.

Super Inday Colove embarks on Community Design Thinking - Sister Brands for product development in collaboration with three jails (BJMP ICDJFD-Gen Luna, BJMP IDJFD Nanga, Pototan and MBCDJFD Bacolod). The MBCDJ-FD just finished hablon weaving workshop last February 2023 and trained the core team of weavers and designers.

This project was an offshoot of Inday Hablon Freedom Weaves - a restorative recovery process from COVID-19 Pandemic engaging the most vulnerable and marginalized artists in the region such as Women Artists Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDL) mothering behind bars and those in post incarceration from Iloilo City District Jail Female Dormitory.With support from Edified Energiser Grant 2020 and Lead 5050, in partnership with BJMP Iloilo District Jail Female Dormitory, Pototan. Hablon Loom artisan/maker Eddie Panuela from Salngan, Oton.

Alternatives to Violence Project (AVP) with Super Inday CoLove

The Alternatives to Violence Project (AVP) is a training program enabling participants to deal with potentially violent situations in new and creative ways.

AVP started in prisons in the U.S.A. in 1975, and now also operates in communities, schools, colleges and conflict situations worldwide. They run workshops in prisons, communities, schools, colleges and refugee camps around the world. AVP has done work in over 50 countries, 35 U.S. states, and is in 110 prisons throughout the U.S. They have provided tens of thousands of workshops impacting hundreds of thousands of individuals.
