Super Inday Virtual Art Residency Co-love Project

Super Inday Virtual Art Residency Co-love Project converges women artists and curators in a virtual artists residency set-up through zoom interactive workshops as a process of community disaster response in the spirit of Co-loveboration with women artists behind bars.

Supported by the "Staying Resilient Amid the Pandemic in Southeast Asia" initiative of SEA Junction in partnership with CMB Foundation.

The workshops also includes skills exchange among women artists and the “Super Inday” women in prison and communities involved which be mainly done through zoom barter. As community-based artist-led participatory disaster response, the “Super Indays” lead the CoLoveboration with partners in disaster communities. The output of the collaborative process and consolidation of efforts will be shared in social media in a live stream interactive performance or virtual site-specific exhibition and zoom barter and presentation. Documentation and presentation will be consolidated in a website or blogsite to be shared in social media.

This psychosocial intervention for women “inday” mothering behind bars is an extension of the triple lockdown pandemic barter where artists’ energy exchange break prison walls with zoom-care and goes beyond borders. Inday means Miss or Mademoiselle as a personal endearment or relational name called before a name used by the Ilonggos in Panay region in the Philippines. Inday is significant in the geography as origin and identity of the art work and the artists.  The women naming and claiming their identity has a strong significance in the human stories of objects.

This process-based and people-centered project makes women in prison express symbolic representation of their life stories which celebrates the “SUPER INDAY” extended to other women in disaster communities hoping to create new colors in their darkest times.  Super Inday co-love through healing art are collective memory which revolves around stories of disaster, survival and resilience.
