Collection: Bayaning Inday

Bayaning Inday is the off shoot of the Hilway (Freedom) Art Project Restorative Social Enterprise which  provides creative employment for women in prison in the Iloilo City district jail (ICDJ-FD) in collaboration with Fine Arts Major Organization (FAMO) with Zerrudo as the adviser who helped raised the funds with her students.  Inday dolls project received research grant from University of San Agustin Iloilo, exhibition grant from the National Commission for Culture and the Arts, US Mission to the ASEAN through the Seeds for the Future of Young South East Asian Leadership Initiative,  and Cultural Center of the Philippines Community Extension Outreach grant brought the community exhibition to Palawan, Bohol and Davao.  Philippine Airlines Foundation sponsored the exhibit and conference in California and New York. Hilway Project became finalist to the BPI Sinag Accelerate for the social enterprise development bootcamp. 

The enterprise development became a major component of the project addressing the immediate financial concerns of the women mothering behind bars being breadwinners in their own families.  The product development came as a natural process with special attention to the local character and emphasis on the story behind the art products.  Indays dolls became a travelling exhibition and showcased in bazaars to art fairs such as Produkto Lokal and being displayed in museum shops.
