Pintados Warriors

Pintados Warrior Series traces the roots of the Visayan people from the original inhabitants of the land.  The Visayan ancestry connects to indigenous people with strong identity who wear elaborate tattoes on their bodies in reference to the Boxer Codex.   The Pintados and Ati design mirrors the past in search for our own uniqueness as a people in the contemporary keeping the age old tradition of dancing people.  The women PDL take great pride in celebrating the warrior tribes during the Dinagyang as part of the merry making and in honor of the original Ati people.  The art of tattoing identity have different association among the women PDL with a good number of marked bodies which validates their own individuality.
